Despite having a low impact factor, I strongly believe that QME should be lifted from Level 1 to Level 2.

* QME has a very high Scimago Journal Ranking (SJR): #4 in Marketing. Please see https://www.scimagojr.com/journalrank.php?area=1400&category=1406
This SJR index does not only count citations, but weighs the citations based on how often the citing journals get cited themselves, leading to an improved measure of journal impact. The SJR score is becoming increasingly accepted. Many good journals now report the SJR score on their website.

* A very strong Editorial Board, with many top scholars from top American universities. The editor-in-chief is from Stanford University, whereas the co-editors are affiliated with Chicago, UCLA, Goethe Frankfurt, Columbia, MIT, and U of Washington. Please see https://www.springer.com/business+%26+management/marketing/journal/11129?detailsPage=editorialBoard

* Very good researchers are willing to publish in the journal. Authors often have excellent affiations, often top American universities https://link.springer.com/journal/11129

* It is currently level 3 in the ABS Academic Journal Guide.

* Though no hard evidence, it seems that top schools such as Stanford, UCLA, Chicago, and UPenn (Wharton) allow QME to be counted in their tenure track.
